Yep. . .33 years He was here!  "Why?"  Here's how God
put it in the Bible: "For God so loved the world, that He
gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in
Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
               (John 3:16).
Another time He said," The thief, (sin and satan), comes
only to steal and kill, and destroy;  I (Jesus) have come
that they might have life, and might have it to the full."
              (John 10:10)
You ask,"Why?"  There you have it in  John 3:16--
HE LOVES US.  "Why?"  Now there's a question I can't
answer or understand, but He does!  Why don't you read
what God said about His love again?  Go on, take another
minute to think that one through.

Sure, He left His throne in heaven, was born as a babe
in a lowly manger, and died on a rugged cross; but why?
Just so you and I wouldn't have to pay the price for our
own sins!  "Pay for our own sins?"  That's what it says in
Romans 6:23, "The 'wages' of sin is death but the gift
of God is eternal life . . ."  He took that death and now
              wants to give to us LIFE eternal. You see, He had no sin;
He was the only one who could take our place.  We could
never pay for our own sin.  What punishment will there be
for those who 'won't' take that gift of Life? Revelation 20:15
says, "And whosoever was not found written in the
book of life was cast into a lake of fire."  Hell!  A
             place of eternal punishment.

The sinless Son of God, God Himself, suffered those wages,
for us on the cross: "For he hath made him to be sin for us,
who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteous of
God in him ." God put all our sin on Christ. On the cross, He
paid the price that God asked.  Sin separates us from a Holy
God.  So, God had to turn his back on his own son, as he bore
            our sin, in our place.

If that doesn't fill you with awe and sorrow for what our sin
put him through, maybe you'd rather go back down to your
'puter and play (while you wait to go to the other place). Wait
up a sec, though . . . I don't want you to go without seing one
more thing . . .Might as well know it all, and this is the best
              yet...
